Why we exist
Selling online has never been more accessible — or more confusing. A modern seller might list the same product on Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart, and TikTok Shop simultaneously, with different fee structures, different ad costs, and different return rates on each. The result: most sellers can tell you their revenue, but very few can confidently tell you their actual profit on any individual SKU.
We started TrueMargin because we kept watching capable, hard-working operators make pricing, sourcing, and ad-budget decisions on incomplete data — and discover months later they'd been losing money on bestsellers. The numbers existed, scattered across a half dozen dashboards. Nobody had time to reconcile them.
TrueMargin pulls those numbers together, applies the math sellers should be doing manually but can't, and surfaces the answers in plain English: which SKUs are bleeding, which are ready to scale, and where the hidden fees and unattributed ad spend are eating your margin.
What makes us different
Multi-channel by default
One unified P&L across Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and others — not a single-channel tool with bolt-ons.
True ACOS, not Amazon ACOS
We measure ad spend against total revenue, not just attributed revenue, so you see the real ad cost on every dollar earned.
Plaid expense tracking
Connect your business bank and we'll auto-categorize the expenses sellers usually forget — prep fees, software subscriptions, agency retainers — so your P&L is the one your accountant would draw.
Built for trust
Per-tenant data isolation, encryption at rest, audit logging, and a 30-day deletion guarantee. Read our Data Processing Addendum.
Our principles
- Customer data is the customer's data. We never sell, rent, share, or train models on it. Read the privacy policy — it's deliberately plain.
- Show the math. Every metric we surface can be drilled into so you can see exactly which orders, fees, or ad campaigns make up the number.
- Honest defaults. When the data is incomplete or estimated, we say so. We'd rather show "unknown" than a confident-looking wrong number.
- Speed matters. Sellers shouldn't wait 30 seconds for a dashboard to load.
